TV Series – The Great Irish Session / An Irish Voice

Another attempt to jazz up a tired genre. Its not that I feel sick watching the talent shows on TV. The drama, the tears, the controversies. It just that I don’t feel very well watching them.

Regardless there is a lot of talent out there and it should be given a stage. But why dress nice people up like the latest version of the last crap boy band and make them pant and scream in front of dramatic and highly under qualified… I don’t even know what to call them? Adjudicators? It’s like feeding people to the lions in order to reap the rewards off the hype and gossip it creates.

Sure it’s popular and successful, but so was Nazism. Sure it makes some people a lot of money, but so does heroin. And sure, Paddy from down the road gets his 15 minutes, but will he ever learn the meaning of the term ‘Faustian’?
